Optimism? I used to know what that was.

I didn’t think it was possible,
but I’ve become even more pessimistic.
Well I could probably list a good 80 to 90 reasons without too much effort.
As a matter of fact,
I think coming up with 10 reasons to get out of bed
may take some seriously life affirming events.
I wouldn’t want to miss that so I’ll just stay here
wait for some affirmation.

Having thrown down those parameters,
I guess I better start out with some hopeful events.
These are two clips about two dads, two sons, two performances
two very different but both successful parenting skills.

The kid has some very funny one liners
like when the judge comments that the Dad isn’t out of shape,
his son responds,
"That's part of being Greek."

By the time I graduated from High School,
I had stopped watching overdone, melodramatic, uplifting background music, sappy stories.  However, this is one fabulous dad.
The beginning is a little drawn out so if you want, start play at the 3 minute mark.
(The dad basically goes over his adopted son’s history
and his neurological damage is from being a drug baby.)

So now I have a little optimism
I guess I'll get out of bed.
