Wild Boar

More stories from the islands. Hawaii has a big population of wild boars (Pua’a). They aren’t exactly petite (between 100 and 200 pounds.) They burrow and are really destructive.
(Hmm, a foreign species introduced to an island that ends up causing environmental collapse. Couldn’t have seen that coming.) However, just in case your true travel dream is to kill something in all 50 states, wild boar hunting, followed by a wild boar Luau is for you!
The boars have a reputation for being aggressive and dangerous. My friend was freaked out by the thought of running into one. Whenever we parked somewhere and her side of the car was facing the undergrowth, she would climb over the seat and exit on the “safe side”.
