Inability
At times, I have this inability to know when to stop talking. Not a hard concept you say and I agree with you hypothetically but the more nervous I get the more words tumble out of mouth. I’m sure if I were unlucky enough to be arrested as a result of mistaken identity, it would take less than an hour for me to implicate myself in something I didn’t do.
I’m also assuming this rules me out for joining any Abby that required a vow of silence. Because, other than talking too much, I would be a perfect candidate to become a nun. Unquestioning respect for authority, ability to do domestic chores, no need for privacy and a willingness to wear uncomfortable clothes, that has me written all over it.
“Drawing on my fine command of the English language, I said nothing.” Robert Benchley
“Don't talk unless you can improve the silence.”
“I have never been hurt by what I have not said.” Calvin Coolidge
“Better to be thought a fool than to open one’s mouth and remove all doubt.” Abraham Lincoln
