Hug Dispatch

Sept. 19 was National Thank a Police Officer Day.

Who knew?!? I blame my ignorance on Facebook whose services should include calendar proficiency.

Considering the recent focus on psychopathic policing behavior,

recognizing officers who do not threatened, assault or shoot unarmed civilians is probably a worthwhile activity.

On Labor Day, a senior came to a Colorado police station.

She explained that she was troubled by the recent deaths of several police officers and requested a hug. Dispatch sent out a request.

Several officers headed to the station but a 20-year veteran made it first.

"It feels good to be recognized for the hard work we're trying to do here." Jill McGranahan, Department Public Relations Coordinator.
