A little higher standards, please.

What is wrong with people, and for purposes of this post, I am mostly referring to a small group of female people. My friend sent me a link to a story and advised me to skip the story but read the comments. Good advice.

Charles Manson is set to wed a female prison groupie if you're still worried about the gays ruining the sanctity of marriage or anything. Shauna@goldengateblond

Charles Manson, age 80, intends to marry "Star", age 26.  Manson bestowed the moniker claiming she is an actual star and not a real human. (Not to quibble, but it good to see Charles is using the full education options in prison like basic physics.)

I would love to see that girl's Pinterest board. LaurenGreenberg @laurengreengurg

However, not to worry because Star's mother believes Charlie loves her little girl and he is environmentalist, plus he recognizes her an actual celestial body so what could go wrong? Star has also reported that the happy couple would be living in her parent's basement should he ever be released.

Charles Manson is marrying a 26 year-old woman. Great job, her parents. Julius Sharpe@Julissharpe

Manson was denied for parole for the 12th time in 2012 and won’t be eligible for parole again until 2027. If you don’t want to do the math, he will be 93 and if you are interested, he is not able to have conjugal visits. (Good job California State Prison System.)

3 years from now Charles Manson will get divorced and own 14 very paranoid cats. CatMan@CuddleYourCat

Richard Ramirez raped and murder thirteen women. He married Doreen Lioy. They separated before he died from cancer but by then, he was already engaged to somebody else.

I wonder if serial killer's parents are saying to them "Why can't you settle down and get married like Charles Manson?"AdamHunter @AdamComedian

Philip Carl Jablonski killed five women. While he was in prison for his first murder, he married Carol Spadoni. He later murdered her and her mother. (Good job parole board!) Back in prison, he claims his only regret is not having killed his own mother when she visited him in prison.

Unbelievable, Charles Manson is gonna getting married before me - guess I owe grandma 20 bucks MattOswalt@Puddinsrip

Ted Bundy killed at least 30 women and hinted that the number was closer to 300. While in prison, Bundy married Carole Ann Boone, who was a former co-worker. She gave birth to Bundy's child, despite the fact that no conjugal visits were allowed in his prison. (Good job Florida Prison system.)

A 26-y.o. woman is marrying 80-y.o. Charles Manson after 9 years of trying to get him exonerated. PARENTAL INTERNET CONTROLS, ACTIVATED! LeslieMarinelli@TheBeardedIris

Angelo Buono, Jr. was one of the Hillside Stranglers who killed nine women. He met his wife Christine Kizuka while she was visited her husband in prison.

The woman going to marry Charles Manson has obviously never googled Charles Manson  Cameron@Neepdeckers

Kenneth Bianchi, the other Hillside Strangler, married Shirlee Book who was first turned down by Ted Bundy. She bought wedding invitations and a wedding dress before Bianchi proposed. (I'm guessing they may be a pass down from the initial attempt at nuptials with Ted.)

Prior to his trial, Bianchi convinced a female admirer to attempt to kill a girl in a copycat manner to make it look like the Hillside Stranglers were still at large. When she failed, he refused to communicate with her anymore.

Charles Manson can get married but I'm not allowed to walk into a store without pants on? Lesbianweed@singing_ghost

Erik Menendez and Lyle Menendez murdered their parents. Lyle married Anna Eriksson who was his penpal for many years. They divorced after Eriksson discovered that Lyle was writing to Rebecca Sneed, who he subsequently married.

Think Manson makes her sign a prenup so if the fairytale doesn't work out, she only gets the amount of crazy she entered the marriage with?

Erik married Tammi Ruth Saccoman over the telephone and had a Twinkie wedding cake.

I'm kind of glad any woman that would marry a man with a swastika carved in his forehead is gonna be off the market. SimonKing@Unfamous

In 2000, Benetton ran a feature with death row inmates, initially reported to humanize and expose capital punishment. While I agree that there are major issues with capital punishment, not the least of which our system tends to convict innocent people, but I don't think Benetton is the moral expositor of choice.

Charles Manson is getting married. I give it two years tops - 18 months on good behavior. KevinLutz@KC14187

The US Executive VP of Benetton later acknowledged, "There's no correlation between these guys and our sweaters. In terms of an advertising strategy, what we are really doing is building brand awareness." They were sued by Missouri and the multi billion dollar company had to pay $50K to Crime Victims Compensation Fund.  (That will show 'em!) At least one convict marriage resulted from the ads.

Ugh, I'm only 25 and already it feels like everyone I went to HS with and fabled serial killers are getting married  ZackBornstein@ZackBornstein

Ladies, we need to have a little higher standards. Expand your aspirations! Dream bigger! Scott Peterson, convicted of murdering his wife and unborn child, received a marriage proposal within the first hours of his conviction.

That is sooo CREEPY! I mean, he's 80 and she's only 26?!?! He's old enough to be her grandpa. (Yep. THAT is the creepiest thing about this.)

The Supreme Court ruled in 1987 that prisoners have the right to marry as long as they ain't them gay prisoners. (Good job Supreme Court!)

So I heard Charles Manson is getting married. Yeah, I didn't think life in prison was a strong enough punishment either.  EricRogers@EricRogersLA

European women have another angle. They can marry an American on death row, return to Europe, take out a life insurance policy and collect when they are executed. (Good job Europe!)

I think she is marrying Charles Manson for his money. And by money, i mean cigarettes. MikeVecchinoe@ComicMikeV

There are other Manson related murderers who married in prison.

Nebraska understands that a lesbian wedding would make a mockery of the sanctity of Charles Manson's marriage.  StevenOh@stevenoh88

Tex Watson murder five people, including pregnant actress Sharon Tate. He became a born-again Christian in 1975 and married Kristian Joan Svege. They had 4 children while he was in prison and they divorced in 2003.

If Charles Manson's cell mate is not his best man, it's going to get very uncomfortable in that prison cell. AmishComic@amishcomic

Lest you think it is only women who become groupies, there are a few men.

It only took him 40 years of imprisonment to land her too so I think all you single men still got some time to work on it. Caledonian

Susan Atkins, also a member of the Manson Family and helped murder eight people. Atkins married twice while in prison. First to Donald Lee Laisure in 1981 but had the marriage annulled when she learned he was not a millionaire, as he claimed, and that he had been married thirty-five times before.

My goodness ladies. We can't do better than a murderous criminal mastermind? Embrace the single, not the psycho. Darla@DarlaP20

She married her acting legal council, Harvard Law graduate, James Whitehouse in 1987. She stayed married to Whitehouse until her death in 2009 from a brain tumor.

Star might look like a young Susan but strongly disproves of her. “That b–ch was f–king crazy. She was a crazy f–king w–re. ‘Oh Charlie, I did this for you.’ She didn’t know what she was doing.” I'm relieved Star could clear up just who is a crazy f-king b-ch and who isn't.
