Christmas Bits and Pieces - Part 7

As a kid, Christmas Eve was at Grandma’s house with a bunch of cousins, the Nativity Play, a big container of pine nuts, and a Crisco can, covered in wrapping paper and full of Fly Cookies. Fly Cookies, raisin filled sugar cookies, were named years ago by my uncles and were such a hassle to make my Grandma went into Fly Cookie production only once a year.

The other Christmas requirement was the obligatory package of socks and underwear.  My frugal mom insisted on buying enormous underwear so we could grow into them. As  a six year old I would be rocking underpants big enough for a chunky 18 year old.

A few years ago, my fantastic friend, Jennifer Halversen brought me a Crisco can, covered in wrapping paper and full of Fly Cookies. One of the absolute best Christmas presents ever. (And no large underwear were involved in this Christmas exchange.)

Well now I will most certainly have to start thinking about some sort of present involving large underwear... Hope you had a good Christmas! Will you be headed this way anytime soon?
