Where Am I?

In the new house, there has been shockingly little effort made to unpack. I don’t work well with the haphazard assignment of item stowage and so I’m formulating the multipage, color coordinated plan of getting the house in order.

I want to do something with the patio and yard. Right now the idea of a relaxing space outside is very appealing . . . until I actually go outside. For some reason, I have in the back of my mind that I’m still living in California, not Arizona.  Looking out the window, they are similar but walking outside eliminates any doubt.

In addition to triple digit temperatures, things like trying to maintain any skin tone in the ubiquitous sun shine is not going to happen.

But I have this picture in my mind, much like the idealistic camping trip I picture, of my nose in a book, enjoying a little breeze and flowering foliage. Compared to the actual outdoor experiences, I am pretty sure this will remain idealistic rather than factual.  Forty plus years is banking against it.

"Any man, in the right situation, is capable of murder.  But not any man is capable of being a good camper. So, murder and camping are not as similar as you might think." Jack Handy

"Camping is nature's way of promoting the motel business." Dave Berry

"I hate the outdoors.  To me the outdoors is where the car is." Will Durst
