A Little House Buying Love

As a middle aged, single lady, I’ve purchased one house. One. And it took support from my dad and six months of looking and help from a relative in the mortgage business and a gift of $3,000 from my mom and it was a big deal and it was a pain in the butt and I had months of anxiety over finding the “right” house.

Home purchase number two has been different.  I have a most fabulous realtor who changed the parameter of my search at least a dozen times and found a fantastic home and got it under contract and arranged for it to be termite-less and who had to work with a crazy, angst ridden customer.

I also have to give a shout out to my magnificent mortgage broker who has listened to me gripe out mortgage insurance (which I am STILL pissed off about) and who has come up with some creative solutions to my nontraditional income and who hasn’t given up looking for a conventional loan option because I really, really want to be conventional in at least one aspect of my life.

I thank you, my children thank you and my brother (who would be forced to house me in his basement) thanks you in a most profuse and heart felt manner.
