On Aging

I always thought there would be some metaphysical process as we age to make it more tolerable. Something like replacement of smooth skin for wisdom or skinny thighs for maturity. It’s partially true. I’m not anywhere as angst ridden as I was at 16, but really, overall, what a disappointment! Now I have insecurity and back pain. The nastiest part? Considering my occupation, I know it can get much, much worse.
“...inside every old person is a young person wondering what happened.” Terry Pratchett
"My father hated radio and could not wait for television to be invented so he could hate that too." Peter De Vries
“When I was your age, television was called books.” William Goldman, The Princess Bride
“The four stages of man are infancy, childhood, adolescence, and obsolescence.” Art Linkletter
