Twinkie-gate and other True Twinkie related Trivia

“Advertising is selling Twinkies to adults.” – Donald R Vance

A post in tribute to the demise of the lowly, yet ubiquitous Twinkie. I must admit, there are times when I grab an inherently repellent, squishy yellow snack cake with mystery filling from the convenient store shelf. Not my preservative sugar hit of choice but, if I’m up against the wall, I’m going to do what I have to do. So what do you say? Up for some trivia?
Can you name the Hostess Characters of deliciousness?
(In order) Captain Cupcake, Twinkie the Kid, Happy Ho Hos, Fruit Pie the Magician
What is the recommended shelf life of a Twinkie (NOT the actual decades it would take for a Twinkie to be less enticing than when it was fresh.)
25 days (Right, it could sit in the delivery van in Death Valley for 25 day without notable impact.)
What year were Twinkies first made?

A Twinkie, a Thermos of Kool-Aid, a bag of Fritos and a bologna sandwich between two slices of Wonder Bread. (Nothing like product branding at every turn!)
What is the Twinkie Defense?
A term related to the 1979 trial of Dan White who shot San Francisco city supervisor Harvey Milk and Mayor George Moscone. White's defense was that he suffered diminished capacity as a result of his depression and a change in diet from healthy food to Twinkies and other sugary foods. He was convicted of voluntary manslaughter.

In 1986, a Minneapolis City Council candidate was indicted for serving coffee, Kool-Aid and Twinkies to court the senior citizen votes.

Twinkie Sushi, Twinkiehenge, Twinkie Burrito, Twinkie Spam Roll, Twinkie Lasagna or Pigs in a Twinkie
Twinkie Spam Roll, but it should be because it sounds delicious!

Who, in their right mind wants to do this and who in their right mind lets them do it!?!
Which US president called Twinkies “An object of enduring American symbolism” and included a pack in a time capsule?
President Clinton. (I guess he has something against Ho Ho’s)

An attractive woman who possess little brains and even less morals. I bet you knew that one.
What is the term “Twink” slang for?
A young gay man. I bet you didn’t know that one!
In what post-apocalyptic movie was one character desperately looking for Twinkies?
Zombieland
