The Day of Me!

Sorry no post earlier but here was my day:
225 pounds of attention deficit disorder dogs to the groomers. Drive through McD’s for dollar diet soda. Office. Lengthy debate with morons at County Rotation Indigent Burial porgram on indigent burial policy which does not follow requirements listed on the website. Discussion on why social work should be required to go to airport gate to retrieve oxygen canister of patent flying out of state to live with his daughter when oxygen is a service, paid for by hospice, to the supply company and, it would appear to me, that should they want a return of their product they should jolly well go it themselves.
Message from kid who reports teacher will be calling secondary to failure to turn in a project because she “forgot.” Attempted visit to paranoid schizophrenic who is home but refuses to answer the door. However, he has no furniture and would like social work to acquire a tasteful living room set. (I did not learn furniture acquisition in school.) Drive through McD’s for dollar diet soda. Return to office for review of new Plan of Care, range of visitation expectation adjustment secondary to patient decline. Drive through McD’s for dollar diet soda.
Visit to little lady 1, newly placed in group home who wants to go home. Redirected with talk of her favorite fruit. Visit to little lady 2, newly placed in group home who wants to go home. Redirected with talk of her childhood. Visit to little lady 3, newly placed in group home who wants to go home. Unable to redirect. Offered verbal support while she became tearful and then fell asleep mid conversation. Drive through McD’s for dollar diet soda.
Purchase crappy duffle bag (only duffle bag option) at store on the way home to pack for sister’s wedding. Pick up 225 pounds of attention deficit disorder dogs from the groomers. Home where I find three duffle bags shoved in various places in the kid’s room. Pack car and leave two hours late.
Attempted retrieval of prescription which was “not ready.” Drive out of town. Kid asks “Where is it again that you can drive as fast as you want?” Led to discussion on formation of the Autobahn, Hitler, Nationalism, Socialism versus Capitalism, Vietnam and why the voting age is 18. Text from Walmart that prescription is now ready for pick up.
Pick up the two big girls on the way to San Diego. Discussions on Morality versus Evolution of Behavior, Sex Education, College, Politics, formation of Unions, Photography, Coco the Gorilla and requests for dinner. Realization that I have become my mother.
Arrive in San Diego and find hotel. Meet up with family where hilarious discussions on various topics ensue. Return to hotel with ridiculously small parking spaces in garage. Harassed by the 17 year old on my inability to park. Relinquished the keys to 17 year old. One attempt made at parking and keys were returned. Found parking down the street and returned to room.
