Popular Books

I was curious so, per Wikipedia (the spring of all knowledge,) here are some of the all-time best sellers:
A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens, written in 1859. Sold 200 million. I read this in high school and recently tried to re-read it. I think my brain has decayed because I could not get into this book. Or maybe time with dead English guys is only for high school-ers.
The Little Prince by Antoine de Sain-Exupery, written in 1943. Sold 200 million. I have never understood the appeal of this book. What am I missing?
The Lord of the Rings by JRR Tolkien, written in 1954. Sold 150 million. The Hobbit by JRR Tolkien, written in 1937. Sold 100 million. This is another set that I haven’t read in ages so I bought the CD’s on Amazon. I really hope I haven’t had so much brain decay that I can’t follow them. I remember loving them!
And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie, written 1939. Sold 100 million. I am so glad she is on this list. She is one of my favorites AND she found her true love, Max Mallowan, a 26 year old archaeologist, when she was 40. Awesome!
Harry Potter series by JK Rowling, written 1997 to 1007. Sold 450 million. First author to make over a billion dollars! (I wonder if she will be the last author to make that much.)
Twilight series by Stephenie Meyer, written 2005 to 2011. Sold 116 million. Um – Yep!
